Pooch Prance

Benefitting only local women, Loudoun's own Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation once again expects hundreds of participants from Ashburn, Brambleton, Leesburg, Middleburg and the surrpounding areas. We welcome women, men, children, and their pooches, to walk, run, or prance on Sunday October 11 to raise money for the local fight against breast cancer.

Sign up and help us hit our 2015 goal of at least 1,000 participants!

Once again the events are generously supported by Grand Sponsor, Middleburg Bank. The two fundraisers will simultaneously start at 1:00 PM. On-site registration opens at 11:30 AM:

  • Ashburn at Sanders Corner School, 43100 Ashburn Farm Parkway, Ashburn, VA
  • Middleburg at Foxcroft School, 22407 Foxcroft Road, Middleburg, VA

Fundraisers will gather together with breast health supporters and cancer survivors dressed in pink - with their pooches similarly sporting pink bandanas, hats, and tutus -  to continue the effort to defeat breast cancer.

Since 2007, Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation has granted almost $700,000 to local organizations to help women with breast cancer. This past December the organization granted $142,000 locally. The all-volunteer non-profit also annually recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations fighting breast cancer with the Cherry Blossom Champion Award.

The Ashburn walk/run course will start at Sanders Corner Elementary School. A Founder's Circle Sponsor, Parva Plastic Surgery, will again vie for the largest team with its "Parva Sock Patrol."

In Middleburg, the event, subtitled Nanette's Walk in memory of Nanette White, will be held on the campus of Foxcroft School. The walk/run will be held on flat school streets as well as the school's beautifully scenic and wooded cross-country course.

Register online for both events. You may register as an Individual or as part of a Team. Teams are encouraged. Create your own team as those of ten or more only pay $25 per person rather than the individual fee of $35.

Remember, that funds raised by Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation support only local women and are not sent to national organizations or out of the area.
